Electrical clean-up for the pool pump switch and outlet

I decided to some electrical clean-up with the pool switch and outlet. The electrical was mounted to the old fence and was higher  than the new fence and I felt needed to be cleaned-up. I didn't take before pictures for some reason, but I do have some pictures of the filter where you can see what I am talking about to the right-rear of the filter and some of the pile of wood after I cleaned it up. It was just…

Sprinkler Head

Weeding, filling holes and cleaning the pool filter yet again

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before I got around to doing some things that have been staring me in the face for awhile, one is filling that hole in the middle of the yard, weeding and cleaning the algae out of the pool. The Hole That hole I am referring to is from the sprinkler head I removed in an attempt to diagnose it a very long time ago. It is pretty much right in the middle of the…

Pool opening is turning into an epic battle – turning a pond into a pool

My brother opened the pool on Memorial Day. It was in bad shape. Ducks, tadpoles and frogs. I even had a couple Canada geese show up. Saw those and I was like, ah no, no you don't, OUT! They didn't seem to want to leave, but they finally took off and never came back. Some people have built businesses keeping those things off property. That said, I was getting my nails done a couple of weeks ago and there was…

These are the plans I submitted to the architectural review board. This will require a Bobcat and yes, it will fit through the gate. This horizontal storage shed was the main thing I was after, that and getting the bushes planted for privacy. While I couldn't find this online, I did find this, which is actually a lot nicer. This box will allow me to get rid of that wooden "shed" by the pool that is sticking out like a sore thumb…

New Pool Liner

New pool liner in

The new liner is in. I did take some video of the install, but I don't have the best videographer skills. Plus I haven't reviewed it yet and I am not sure it will be acceptable to post. Maybe someday. Mostly filled, pool light being installed. Shout out to my brother who totally saved me on this job.

Pool and pool equipment – shaping up, frogs and all

  • July 18, 2015
  • Pool

Lucky for me, my brother has been in the pool business since he was a kid so he was instrumental in getting the pool up and running. They had removed the old pump and only left an old sand filter. It was replaced with a new Pentair pump and Pentair cartridge filter. By the way, the frogs are always in the skimmer. I can't tell you how many times they've caught me off guard, forgetting they are very likely going to…
